TLC

At WWE TLC, the vengeful rage of an uncontrollable monster will clash head-on with one of the most maniacal Superstars ever to set foot in the squared circle, as World Heavyweight Champion Kane battlesEdge in a Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match for the World Title.
It all started after Edge captured the right to challenge Kane for the World Title at Survivor Series on the Oct. 29 edition of SmackDown (Watch). The Master Manipulator immediately set a plan in place to turn the tables of intimidation of his frightening opponent by abducting Kane’s father, Paul Bearer.
Their brutal Survivor Series title match failed to put their tensions to rest, ending in a controversial draw, with Kane still in possession of the title and Edge still in possession of Kane’s father. (Match results | Photos)
Back on SmackDown, Edge continued to make The Big Red Monster play his games week after week, dangling his terrified father just out of his reach. Desperately trying to get Paul Bearer back, Kane offered Edge another championship match. Although Edge accepted, he continued to torment “The Devil’s Favorite Demon,” destroying a series of fake Paul Bearers, presenting the illusion that they were the real “Father of Destruction.”
Edge’s efforts allowed him to defeat Kane in a non-title match on the Dec. 3 edition of SmackDown, giving The Ultimate Opportunist the right to choose the stipulation of their World Title match at WWE TLC. He wasted no time choosing his “specialty,” a Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match.
One week later, Edge’s mind games led to a realistic nightmare for The Big Red Monster. When Kane found what appeared to be Paul Bearer, sitting at the top of two ladders very close to the edge of a high overhang, he dismissed it as another one of his maniacal No. 1 contender’s tricks and pushed the structure over the railing. After the wheelchair and its occupant dropped to the concrete floor below, the horrific Superstar realized that it had been the real “Father of Destruction.”
The Rated-R Superstar has been involved in TLC matches since their creation and his success has been second to none. In the 10-match history of one of the squared circle’s most dangerous and exciting specialty matches, the nine-time World Champion has competed in six of them and been on the winning side of four.
The Big Red Monster has been virtually unstoppable since wining the World Heavyweight Championship and is no stranger to intense specialty matches. Though he doesn’t possess Edge’s record with TLC onslaughts, he has taken them to new heights. In a classic TLC Match on Monday Night Raw in 2002, the horrific Superstar single-handedly reigned supreme over three tag teams to retain the then-active World Tag Team Title.
But, has the bombardment of intense anguish that Kane has experienced at the hands of The Master Manipulator left him unable to mentally compete? Or will it only add to his rage? Find out at WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs, Sunday, Dec. 19 at 8/7 CT, only on pay-per-view.
The Miz shocked the WWE Universe when he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on a vulnerable Randy Orton on Raw to capture the WWE Championship, but the Age of Awesome could very well end in a shower of splinters at WWE TLC when the brash new WWE Champion defends his title against the vengeful Viper in a Tables Match.
The only way to win a Tables Match is to put your opponent through a table by any means necessary. There are no count-outs, submissions or pinfalls.
One week after The Miz’s successful first title defense against WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler in a harrowing Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match on Raw, The Awesome One wasn’t interested in just telling Orton about the precarious stipulation for their anticipated rematch at WWE TLC; he wanted to show him firsthand. But since Orton is known for turning the tables on his enemies – especially when actual tables are involved – WWE’s Apex Predator sent a powerful retaliatory message to The Miz by driving his apprentice, Alex Riley, through a table.
Ever since he defeated seven other Superstars – including Orton – for a WWE Championship opportunity at Money in the Bank in July, The Miz flaunted his bright red briefcase to remind his opposition that it was only a matter of time before the most coveted prize in sports-entertainment would be fastened securely around his “awesome” waist. Because, as he boldly proclaimed to the WWE Universe the night he captured the Raw Money in the Bank briefcase, “You’re all living in my moment.” (READ MORE)
As The Miz was biding his time in possession of a guaranteed WWE Title Match wherever and whenever he wanted it, WWE Champion Orton was facing a serious threat from Nexus leader Wade Barrett. One night turning back the calculating Nexus mastermind at Survivor Series, WWE’s Apex Predator overcame a vicious assault at the hands of The Nexus and went on to defeat Barrett in a grueling WWE Title rematch. Wincing in pain from the pre-match attack and his hard-fought title defense, The Viper was visibly shaken when The Miz’s entrance music suddenly began blaring out of the arena speakers: The Miz had chosen his time to strike. (WATCH | PHOTOS)
Orton refused to go down without a fight, but the battered and bruised WWE Champion could not turn back The Miz’s vicious offense for long, ultimately succumbing to a Skull-Crushing Finale that earned The Awesome One his first WWE Title victory. But at WWE TLC, The Viper will be out to make The Miz taste timber.
Will Orton humble The Miz and earn his seventh WWE Title? Or will the Age of Awesome continue into 2011? Find out by tuning in to WWE TLC, Dec. 19, only on pay-per-view.

Sometimes, people genuinely don’t like each other. Such is the case with Rey Mysterio and Alberto Del Rio, who will go to war in an explosive Chairs Match at WWE TLC.
Before Del Rio even arrived in WWE this year, he talked a lot of smack (WATCH). Then in his first match ever, "The Essence of Excellence" backed up weeks of self-aggrandizement with a huge win over Mysterio (WATCH).
Just one week later, Del Rio put The Master of the 619 out of commission, using a chair and the steel ring post to break his wrist (WATCH). Ever since that fateful night, Del Rio has continued to belittle Rey, calling him a "little Chihuahua." When Mysterio finally returned after his injury, Del Rio went as far using a dog in a Mysterio mask to poke fun at his adversary (WATCH).
But Mysterio finally gained some payback when Team Mysterio beat Team Del Rio in a Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Tag Team Match at Survivor Series (PHOTOS).
Most recently, Del Rio cost Mysterio a chance at qualifying for the King of the Ring Tournament (WATCH). But, Mysterio fired back by driving into Raw in one of Del Rio’s luxury cars, ultimately costing him his chance to be king. (WATCH).
Then, after learning from SmackDown General ManagerTheodore Long that the pay-per-view encounter with Del Rio was officially made, Mysterio broke the news to his foe on SmackDown. The Master of the 619 capped off the big announcement by smashing Del Rio through a table (WATCH).
Shortly after the Chairs Match stipulation was announced one week later, Mysterio gained even more momentum, overcoming Del Rio in a Handicap Match on the wings of the 619 and an earth shattering splash (WATCH).
With such deep-seated contempt for one another, their encounter on the pay-per-view stage has all the makings for a classic. Will the chair once again prove to be Mysterio’s undoing? Or will The Ultimate Underdog “steel” the win from his aristocratic adversary?
Experience one of WWE’s most dangerous pay-per-views on Dec. 19. (How to watch)
